This photograph was donated by Sheffield City Art Galleries and was initially loaned to them by Gordon Fletcher as part of an exhibition. His father, who was a furnaceman, is on the picture. Others include Bilham (a puller-up), Harry Baines the hammerdriver, Mr Burgin the leverman on an eight ton Beaquing hammer which was used to put on steel tryes. In the middle at the back is a gentleman calle Hutchinson. Also Fred Beaumont the plater. |
